History of Political Parties

unione politica maltese

The Unione Politica Maltese was founded in 1921 under the leadership of Mons. Ignazio Panzavecchia, who remained leader until his death in 1925, when he was succeeded by Sir Ugo Mifsud.

It contested the 1921 and the 1924 elections.

In 1926 it merged with the Partito Democratico Nazionalista to form the contemporary Partit Nazzjonalista.
