Results for the Engagement in the Position of Part-Time Adult Educator on a Definite Contract within the Directorate for Lifelong Learning
 
The Director, Lifelong Learning, notifies that the results of the interviews held during December 2013 and January 2014 for the Engagement in the Position of Part-Time Adult Educator on a Definite Contract within the Directorate for Lifelong Learning, as published in the Government Gazette No. 19,141 of the 20th September, 2013, have been published.
 
A copy of the results may be found on the main notice-board, Education Information Centre, Education Building, Triq l-Assedju l-Kbir, Floriana.

EXAMINATIONS DEPARTMENT
 
English as a Foreign Language (EFL)
Monitoring Board
 
The Director of Examinations and the EFL Monitoring Board notify candidates, who are interested to sit for TELT (Test for English Language Teachers) which will be accepted as an alternative to Advanced Level in English for the purpose of issuing EFL Teaching Permits, that application forms will be received from Monday, 17th February, 2014 to Friday, 28th February, 2014 between between 8.00 a.m. and noon and from 1.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the following offices:-
 
Malta candidates:-               Examinations Department
                                                The Mall, Floriana - Malta
 
Gozo candidates:-                Examinations Centre
                                                Victoria – Gozo
 
2. The examination will consist of Part I – Written Session in English and Part II – Oral Session in English.
 
3. Part I – Written Session in English will be held on Saturday, 15th March, 2014.
 
4. Part II – Oral Session in English will only be open to those candidates who successfully complete Part I of the English Language Examination.
 
5. Part II will be held in May 2014.
 
6. In order to pass, candidates are expected to obtain a Pass, Pass with Merit or a Distinction in each part of the examination.
 
7.  Part I – Written Session in English will be administered by the Director of Examinations while the EFL Monitoring Board will be responsible for Part II –  Oral Session in English and the publication of the final result.
 
8. The Director of Examinations and the EFL Monitoring Board will have the power to deal summarily with any candidate who, while the examination is in progress, is found guilty of misconduct or any other breach of the instructions issued for the guidance of candidates.  The EFL Monitoring Board reserves the right to annul any part or the whole examination if any irregularity is detected in the English Language Examination.
 
9.    Together with each application, candidates must pay a fee of €46.50 and produce a copy of their official I.D. Card or other means of identification.  Payment must be made either by credit card or by cheque payable to the Director of Examinations.
 
10. Application forms and copies of the syllabus may be obtained from the Examinations Department, The Mall, Floriana - Malta or the Examinations Centre, Triq Fortunato Mizzi, Victoria – Gozo from Monday, 17th February, 2014.  These application forms may also be downloaded from the website of the Examinations Department (www.exams.gov.mt).

HOUSING Authority
 
Request for Proposals
 
The Housing Authority is in the process of developing and implementing short, medium and long term policies and strategies to adequately address the increasing demand for social housing within a sustainable development framework.
 
The purpose of this request for proposals is to gauge and evaluate the interest and the resources available in the private sector to address the shortage of housing for the vulnerable and for those seeking alternative accommodation. This particular request for proposals is aimed at increasing the housing stock of the Authority and therefore, proposals to lease out units shall not be considered.
 
 
Submissions should reach the Housing Authority at 22, Triq Pietro Floriani, Floriana, by not later than Friday, 21st February, 2014 at noon.

HOUSING Authority
 
Extension of Contracts for Services
 
The Housing Authority notifies that, in terms of the Public Procurement Regulations, 2010 (L.N. 296 of 2010), the Ministry for Finance granted approval to the Housing Authority within the Ministry for the Family an Social Solidarity to extend the contract for service of Dr Tania Farrugia and Dr Angele Rapa as public notaries by a further period of two months from 1st February, 2014 till 31st March, 2014.  The direct orders were awarded in 2010 and the contract for service has been extended annually.

QRENDI LOCAL COUNCIL
 
Annual Public Meeting
 
In accordance with Article 70 of the Local Councils Act (Cap. 363), an Annual Public Meeting will be held on Monday, 17th February, 2014, at 6.30 p.m. at the Local Council Administrative Office, 7, Triq il-Knisja, Qrendi.
 
All the residents that are listed in the latest Qrendi Local Council Registry are encouraged to attend this meeting and take part in the discussions.
 
The residents attending for this meeting will have time to make their suggestions for the consideration of the Local Council.

MELLIEĦA LOCAL COUNCIL
 
Annual Locality Meeting
 
In accordance with Article 70 of the Local Councils Act (Cap. 363), the Mellieħa Local Council informs the public that two locality meetings are going to be held:
 
(i) on Tuesday, 4th February, 2014 at 7.00 p.m. at the Mellieħa Local Council Office, number 126, Triq il-Mitħna l-Ġdida, Mellieħa;  and
 
(ii) on Thursday, 6th February, 2014 at 7.00 p.m. at Manikata Parish Hall.
 
These meetings are intended for the delivery of an account of the Council’s activities during the financial year that ended in December 2013 as well as for the presentation of the 2014 Annual Budget. 
 
 Residents are invited to attend and participate.
