MINISTRY FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS

Scholarship at the College of Europe, Bruges 2018/2019 
(for Maltese citizens only)

The Government of Malta is offering scholarships for academic year 2018/9 tenable at the College of Europe, Bruges (Belgium) to enable students to participate in one of the following areas of specialisation:

MA in European Economic Studies,
MA in European Legal Studies, 
MA in European Political and Administrative Studies or 
MA in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies 

The scholarships cover one academic year commencing September, 2018 and ending June, 2019.

Applicants for any of the above-mentioned specialisations must already hold a Second Class Upper (or better) local or foreign approved University degree.  In case of the economic and legal departments, applicants must already have a degree in a relevant subject namely economics and law. Applicants must have also a good knowledge of the French language.

The age limit is in principle 30 years.

It is imperative that applicants must apply on-line directly to the College of Europe, Bruges by the deadline of Wednesday, 17th January, 2018 (www.coleurope.eu).
Applicants are to apply also with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The application forms are available from the Ministry’s own website (http://foreignaffairs.gov.mt/en/Pages/Scholarships.aspx). Applicants are to include also a copy of all documents submitted electronically through the College of Europe website. These are to be submitted to the Scholarships Section at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Palazzo Parisio, Triq il-Merkanti, Valletta, from 8.00 a.m. to noon. Closing date for these scholarships is by not later than Wednesday, 17th January, 2018.

Applications from Government and Parastatal employees and from the Private Sector will not be considered unless recommended by their Head of Department/Parastatal Organisation/employer respectively.

Selected candidates will be required to sign an undertaking to the effect that on completion of studies they would be available to work in Malta.  They may also be required to enter into a contract to serve the government of Malta upon completion of studies.

Late applications will not be considered. The Board’s decision will be final.
