The Ministry for Sustainable Development, the Environment and Climate Change is exploring the possibility of developing an education and awareness campaign to accompany the implementation of the National Waste Management Plan.
 
Whilst the overall scope is to cover the broad spectrum of the Plan with a view to maximise the level of understanding of various components, the main focus should be on waste prevention promotion and improvement of waste separation at source.
 
For this purpose the Ministry is issuing a call for an expression of interest inviting proposal for a broad-base integrated marketing communication plan. Proposals are to be submitted by Wednesday, 29th January, 2014 by 10.00 a.m.

This procedure is intended to be repeated every month.
 
Foreign agencies which are interested in purchasing any of the items in the list, must provide relevant authorisations from their country’s Competent Authorities and from the local Authority (MEPA) for the handling of the specific waste streams. In any case, transport of waste must be carried out by a registered waste carrier and export of waste must be done according to the Trans Frontier Shipment of Waste Regulations.
 
Before any loading of positive fractions, full payment by the bidder shall be effected in favour of the Company. Without prejudice to the aforesaid, the Company may, at its sole discretion grant credit arrangements, to be determined by the Company. In case of negative fractions, a credit period of 120 days shall apply.
 
Closing date shall be Friday, 31st  January, 2014 at noon. Purchase order forms are to be deposited in the Tender Box at the WasteServ Malta Ltd, in a sealed envelope and addressed as “Sales of Recyclables”.
