PRESS RELEASE BY THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARIAT FOR CONSUMER RIGHTS, PUBLIC CLEANSING AND SUPPORT FOR THE CAPITAL CITY: Parliamentary Secretary Deo Debattista addresses the Open Day for Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Technologists

“The pharmaceutical sector is expanding in new directions to meet with the health needs of patients. This is possible through robust educational courses that provide the necessary tools to develop the required skills and competencies, as in the Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Technology”, said the Parliamentary Secretary for Consumer Rights, Public Cleansing and Support for the Capital City Deo Debattista during his address.

The Malta Medicines Authority is offering a unique opportunity where students in this course will be able to follow the work done by the professionals at the Authority on research and innovative projects related to cannabis for medicinal use. Students will also benefit from advanced courses organised by the Academy for Patient Centered Excellence and Innovation in Regulatory Sciences in collaboration with the Malta Medicines Authority, the Malta Laboratories Network and Pharmacy Department at the University of Malta.

Parliamentary Secretary for Consumer Rights, Public Cleansing and Support for the Capital City Deo Debattista stated that this opportunity allows students to work alongside local and international experts involved in the dynamic and innovative field of the pharmaceutical sciences while obtaining hands-on experience. To this end, Deo Debattista urges students to apply for the courses to graduate as pharmacists and pharmaceutical technologists. These courses provide an outstanding opportunity to develop the necessary competencies to contribute in placing Malta at the forefront of research and innovation in the pharmaceutical sciences.
