Open Call for the Submission of Supplementary Reading Resources in Maltese For Middle and Senior Schools
The Maltese Section within the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes is requesting the submission of supplementary reading resources in Maltese for Middle and Senior schools.
The Department appoints a Selection Board to evaluate and select the suitable resources for the schools to choose from them for supplementary reading in Maltese. The Board meets regularly to evaluate and to select the submitted resources, to adjourn the official list and to publish it in the Department’s official website of the Maltese Language (http://malti.skola.edu.mt). The list is sent to all the middle and senior schools in Malta and Gozo, and to the European Schools. The resources which are already in this list need not be submitted, unless a revised edition has been published.
The Director of the Learning and Assessment Programmes invites authors, publishers, and book distributors to submit copy/copies of Maltese reading schemes and/or resources of reading in Maltese for evaluation purposes.
Guidelines
The resources submitted under this call must satisfy the following criteria:
1. Be in conformity with the principles, objectives and general guidelines of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
2. Can include graphical representations/illustrations/pictures compatible both with texts and contexts of different genres.
3. Be suitable for the various skills and competencies of middle and senior school pupils and be adaptable to various teaching strategies.
4. Preferably incorporate teachers’ resource packs or teaching aids.
5. The resources will be chosen according to the checklist (http://malti.skola.edu.mt/il-medja/wiehedsek/wiehedsek-sillabu/#Cekkjatura).

The Measures and Support Division within the Ministry for European Affairs and Equality (MEAE), designated by the Managing Authority as the Intermediate Body responsible for administering aid schemes for enterprises under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the 2014 – 2020 programming period, would like to notify that Call 3 for the SME Growth Grant Scheme was issued on 4th December, 2017, as follows:

Priority Axis 3 – ‘Enhancing Malta’s competitiveness through investment in SMEs’
This scheme shall now be administered through an open rolling call system.
Next cut-off dates:
Wednesday, 31st January, 2018 at noon;
Friday, 30th March, 2018 at noon;
Thursday, 31st May, 2018 at noon;
Tuesday, 31st July, 2018 at noon.

Annual Locality Meeting
In accordance with section 70 of the Local Councils Act (Cap. 363), an annual public meeting will be held on Tuesday, 12th Decemer, 2017 at the Għasri Local Council’s office, Triq Dun Karm Caruana, Għasri at 7.00 p.m.

The Birkirkara Local Council notifies that on Wednesday, 13th December, 2017 no parking is allowed in Triq il-Ħerba. These roads will be closed for traffic from from 6.00 a.m. till 2.00 p.m.
