Consultation Process on Proposed Amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Authority Act, (Chapter 424 of the Laws of Malta)
The Ministry for Public Works and Planning and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority have launched a consultation process on proposed amendments to Chapter 424 of the Laws of Malta – the Occupational Health and Safety Authority Act of 2000.
These amendments are intended to ensure that the structures which make up OHSA are better defined and serve their purpose by strengthening the necessary internal and operational checks and balances. The amendments will also bring about more compliance amongst duty holders through an adequate system of deterrents and speedier recourse to justice, while promoting meaningful social partner participation and involvement.
