Patrick Frendo, MD, MMCFD, instead of Dr Alan Ellul, MD (Malta), MSc. (Zag),
and Dr Melvin J. Gouder, MD (Malta), MRC Ophth. (UK), MRCS Ed. (Ophth.) instead
of Dr Charlene Magri, MD (Malta) to be members of the Panel of Medical
Practitioners for the purposes of the said Act.

A
Grant for the Restoration of Domestic Cisterns Intended for Rain Water
Harvesting
In order to further encourage the use of
rainwater in the domestic sector, the Regulator for Energy and Water Services
is administering the following national funded scheme which aims to encourage
rainwater harvesting and the eventual use of this second class water.
1. Grant payable
under this scheme
Applicants may apply
for a grant under this scheme by means of an online form from the Regulator for
Energy and Water Services website (www.rews.org.mt) or by means of the form
downloadable from the same website. The scheme is administered and governed in
terms of the guidelines also downloadable from the website.
Applicants who have
received a similar grant shall not be eligible for another grant issued in
terms of this Scheme.
2. Duration of the
scheme
Applications for
this call may be validly received as from the 7th of May 2018 until the end of
2018. The scheme may be modified or terminated before that date by means of a
notice in the Government Gazette. This scheme may be renewed as may be deemed
necessary by the Regulator for Energy and Water Services also by means of a
notice in the Government Gazette.
3. Amendments to the
scheme
The Regulator for
Energy and Water Services shall at all times have the right to make any
amendments to this scheme by means of a notice published in the Government
Gazette containing such amendments.
SCHEDULE
Grant Percentage and
maximum: 50% of the total eligible costs of restoration works, including VAT,
plus 100% of certification costs, including VAT, up to a maximum of €1,000.
Eligible certification costs will be capped at €100.

of Energy
I N order to further
encourage the use of renewable sources of energy in the domestic sector, the
Regulator for Energy and Water Services is administering the following national
funded scheme which aims to encourage the use of Roof Insulation and Double
Glazing systems for domestic use that reduce the consumption of energy.

for a grant under this scheme by means of an online form from the Regulator for

downloadable from the same website. The scheme is administered and governed in
terms of the guidelines also downloadable from the website.

terms of this Scheme.

validated in 2016 or later): 50% of the total eligible, including VAT, and
capped at €350.

10 of the Private Guards and Local Wardens Act, which are:
(a) where the applicant or any
officer of the applicant or any person who has an effective control of the
services to be provided by the applicant.
(i) has
been convicted in Malta or elsewhere of any crime against the safety of the
state, or of any crime of voluntary harm or injury to any person or any crime
against property or public trust or any other serious crime; or
(ii) has
been declared bankrupt or his financial position is precarious or otherwise
renders the applicant unsuitable; or
(iii)
has been discharged from the police or armed forces or the prison services
because of any offence or other misbehaviour; or
(iv) is
a public officer or a member of the police or armed forces or the prison
services; or
(b) when information is
available which is in the public interest; or
(c) where the applicant does not
possess the necessary qualifications as may be prescribed by or under the Act.
