DEVELOPMENT Planning Act (Cap. 552)

Planning Commission

IN terms of Article 65 (1) of the Development Planning Act, the Minister, after consulting with the Executive Chairperson, prescribes the following:

With effect from 25th October, 2019, the Planning Commission which is currently empowered to determine development applications with regard to sites which are found outside the development zone and urban conservation areas, shall also determine those development applications with respect to sites that partly fall in any one of the aforesaid zone designations.

Scheduling of Property

The Planning Authority is hereby declaring the properties mentioned hereunder as included in the List of Scheduled Property (as shown on the map on page 23,545) in terms of Article 57 of the Development Planning Act, 2016, and paragraphs 1.13, 2.27, and policies TO8, UO2 and RO4 of the Strategic Plan for the Environment and Development (SPED) as follows:

REGULATOR FOR ENERGY AND WATER SERVICES

A Grant for the Purchase of Systems for Domestic Use that Reduce the Consumption of Energy

In order to further promote the use of systems that reduce the consumption of energy in the domestic sector, the Regulator for Energy and Water Services is administering the following national funded scheme, for the below list of households in Birżebbuġa, which aims to encourage the use of Double Glazing systems for domestic use.

2. Grant payable under this scheme

Applicants may apply for a grant under this scheme by means of an online form from the Regulator for Energy and Water Services website (www.rews.org.mt) or by means of the form downloadable from the same website. The scheme is administered and governed in terms of the guidelines also downloadable from the website.

Applicants who have received a similar grant shall not be eligible for another grant issued in terms of this Scheme.

3. Duration of the scheme

3. Applications for this call may be validly received as from the 28th October, 2019, up to the 31st December, 2020. The scheme may be modified or terminated before that date by means of a notice in the Government Gazette. This scheme may be renewed as may be deemed necessary by the Regulator for Energy and Water Services also by means of a notice in the Government Gazette.

4. Amendments to the scheme

The Regulator for Energy and Water Services shall at all times have the right to make any amendments to this scheme by means of a notice published in the Government Gazette containing such amendments.

SCHEDULE

Grant Percentage and maximum in relation to the double glazing: 90% of the total eligible, including VAT, and capped at 2,000 euro.
