VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS ACT (CAP. 492)

IT is hereby notified that, in terms of Article 35 of the Voluntary Organisations Act (Cap. 492), the Minister for Inclusion and Social Wellbeing has approved the appointment of Ms Mariah Meli as a Member in the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector instead of Mr Anthony Mifsud Bonnici Giordani. This appointment is valid till the 6th April, 2023.

THE Superintendent of Public Health notifies that in accordance with article 2 (1) of the Period of Quarantine Order, 2020, the persons on essential travel from Milan (Milan Linate Airport), Italy, on the 14th April, 2021, with connection from Rome (Rome Fiumicino Airport), Italy, on the 14th April, 2021, with scheduled arrival in Malta on the 14th April, 2021, at 18.25hrs, and departing from Malta to Milan (Milan Linate Airport), Italy, with connecting flight from Rome (Rome Fiumicino Airport), Italy, on the 18th April, 2021, with scheduled departure from Malta at 19.15hrs, have been subject to those conditions provided by the Superintendent of Public Health.

REGULATOR FOR ENERGY AND WATER SERVICES 

A Grant for the Purchase of Heat Pump Water Heaters

IN order to further encourage the use of renewable sources of energy in the domestic sector, the Regulator for Energy and Water Services is administering the following national funded scheme which aims to encourage the use of Heat Pumps as a means for heating water.

1. Grant payable under this scheme

Applicants may apply for a grant under this scheme by means of an online form through the Regulator for Energy and Water Services website (www.rews.org.mt) or by means of the form downloadable from the same website. The scheme is administered and governed in terms of the guidelines also downloadable from the website.

Beneficiaries of Heat Pump Water Heater schemes shall be eligible to apply for a second grant after 5 years from the payment date of the original grant.
2. Duration of the scheme

Applications for this call may be validly received as from the 26th of April, 2021 until the end of 2021. The scheme may be modified or terminated before that date by means of a notice in the Government Gazette. This scheme may be renewed as may be deemed necessary by the Regulator for Energy and Water Services also by means of a notice in the Government Gazette.

3. Amendments to the scheme

The Regulator for Energy and Water Services shall at all times have the right to make any amendments to this scheme by means of a notice published in the Government Gazette containing such amendments.

SCHEDULE

Grant Percentage and maximum: 50% of the costs of the Heat Pump Water Heater itself, including VAT, and capped at €1000.

REGULATOR FOR ENERGY AND WATER SERVICES 

A Grant for the Purchase of Solar Water Heaters

IN order to further encourage the use of renewable sources of energy in the domestic sector, the Regulator for Energy and Water Services is administering the following national funded scheme which aims to encourage the use of Solar Water Heaters.

1. Grant payable under this scheme

Applicants may apply for a grant under this scheme by means of an online form from the Regulator for Energy and Water Services website (www.rews.org.mt) or by means of the form downloadable from the same website. The scheme is administered and governed in terms of the guidelines also downloadable from the website.

Beneficiaries of Solar Water Heater schemes before 2021, and also beneficiaries that opt for a non-stainless steel tank system post 2021, shall be eligible to apply for a second grant, after 5 years from the payment date of the original grant, however only if they opt for the amended scheme of installing a stainless steel tank system.  Beneficiaries who opt post 2020 for stainless steel tanks shall automatically be eligible for a second grant after 10 years following payment of the first grant.

2. Duration of the scheme
