MINISTRY FOR FOREIGN AND EUROPEAN AFFAIRS AND TRADE
Sanctions Monitoring Board Declaration
IT is notified that in terms of article 7(5)(b) of the National Interest (Enabling Powers) Act, Chapter 365 of the Laws of Malta, the Sanctions Monitoring Board declares the following vessels are to be deemed as frozen:
MSC Valencia (IMO Number 9301471)
MSC Bilbao (IMO Number 9301495)
The vessels are being declared as frozen since they have been deemed to belong, directly or indirectly, to an entity listed under Council Regulation 269/2014 of 17 March, 2014 concerning restrictive measures in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
The Sanctions Monitoring Board hereby declares that the vessels may be sold by means of a judicial sale by auction or a court approved private sale duly authorised by the Maltese Courts, in which case, the vessels shall be transferred free and unencumbered to the successful purchasers, whilst with respect to the proceeds of the sale deposited in court, save for the amount due to the vessels' creditors with claims against the vessels prior to the judicial sales (including all relative court expenses), such proceeds shall be deemed as frozen.
All third parties are reminded of their obligations under Chapter 365 in respect of frozen assets.
