Payment Claims related to Direct and Area Aid Schemes for Farmers and Livestock Breeders
The Agricultural and Rural Payments Agency (ARPA), within the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights (MAFA), announces that it is extending the deadline for submitting payment claims for the year 2026 on various schemes co-financed by the European Union and the Maltese Government. Accordingly, payment claims will continue to be accepted until the new deadline, i.e. until Wednesday, 20th May, 2026. Claims submitted after this date will be subject to a penalty of 1% per day for up to 10 working days thereafter, i.e. until Wednesday, 3rd June, 2026. Claims submitted after this final date will not be accepted.
The applicable financial aid schemes are the following:

Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS)
Payment for Small Farmers (PSF)
Complimentary Income Support for Young Farmers (CISYF)
Eco-schemes 1-6, BDW, SGW
Coupled Income Support (CIS)

IKLIN LOCAL COUNCIL
Suspension of Traffic and Parking
The Iklin Local Council notifies that from Thursday, 14th May, 2026 to Saturday, 16th May, 2026, Pjazza Ninu Cremona and Triq Ġużè Ellul Mercer will be closed to traffic and parking.
Clearance of cars will also be required on Saturday, 16th May, 2026, from 6.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. in Triq Dun Karm (service road).
