The High Commissioner of Australia to Malta Jennifer Cartmill presented her Letters of Credence to President George Vella at Sant'Anton Palace, Attard.
During the ceremony, President Vella referred to the excellent relations between the two countries on all fronts. A very strong component of these ties are the Maltese diaspora in Australia who still cherish their cultural and language links with Malta.
Relations with the Commonwealth and both countries' role in the organisation were discussed, together with the latest developments regarding the EU-Australia Framework Agreement and the EU-Australia Free Trade Agreement.
