In accordance with the Food Safety Act and Regulation (EC) No. 178 of 2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council, the Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health wishes to inform the public that the following information received through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed, the below-mentioned product must not be consumed in view of possible contamination with Aflatoxins.

Aflatoxins are produced primarily by two species of the Aspergillus fungus which are especially found in areas with hot, humid climates. They are found in food as a result of fungal contamination, both pre-and post-harvest. Temperature, humidity, soil, and storage conditions all affect the rate and degree of contamination. Aflatoxins can cause a variety of adverse health effects in humans.
