ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIRECTORATE NOTICE

According to the Bathing Water Directive, the Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health wishes to notify that until further notice bathing is not recommended due to sewage overflow affecting the bathing water quality and presenting a risk to bathers' health. The Water Services Corporation was informed and took immediate action whereby it resulted that this contamination was caused by a drainage blockage from a public toilet. Necessary works were carried out by WSC to stop the sewage overflow. Tests are being carried out to determine when the beach can be reopened for swimming.
