The Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health would like to inform the public that, in accordance with the Bathing Water Directive, bathing is not recommended until further notice at the affected site due to a recent sewage overflow into the sea from cesspits belonging to private property. Although the overflow has now stopped, the incident may have impacted bathing water quality and could pose a potential risk to public health. As a precautionary measure, the public is advised to avoid swimming in the area until the water quality is confirmed to be safe. Officials from the Environmental Health Directorate are currently monitoring the situation, and investigations are ongoing. The duration of the contamination cannot be determined at this time, but updates will be issued as necessary.

Signs indicating the area have been fixed in the area. When the quality is restored, the signs will be removed, and another press release will be issued to notify the public that the site is again fit for bathing.
