In accordance with the Food Safety Act and Regulation (EC) No. 178 of 2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council, the Food Safety and Security Authority wishes to inform the public that following information received from the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed, the following product must not be consumed in view of the presence of pesticide, methomyl.
This pesticide is not permitted for use in food products sold within the EU. While eating a contaminated item does not present an immediate health risk, long-term intake of methomyl could lead to health concerns. For this reason, exposure to this substance should be kept as low as possible.
