Products bearing these best-before dates should not be consumed since they may contain cereulide toxin.

The possible presence of cereulide (toxin) makes these products unsafe to consume.

Cereulide is a toxin produced by some strains of Bacillus cereus. Cereulide is highly heat stable, meaning it is unlikely to be deactivated or destroyed by cooking, using boiling water, or when making the infant milk. If consumed, it can lead to rapid onset of food poisoning symptoms. Symptoms caused by this toxin may include nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps.

Consumers are advised not to consume the implicated products and either dispose of it or return it to the store from which it was purchased.
