In relation to PR260213en issued on 7th February 2026, and PR260222en issued on 9th February 2026, and in accordance with Chapter 649 of the Food Safety and Security Act, as well as in line with the Authority's role to ensure transparency and public awareness on matters relating to food safety and security, the Authority, hereby informs the public of additional information received through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF). The possible presence of cereulide (toxin) makes this product unsafe for consumption.
Cereulide is a toxin produced by some strains of Bacillus cereus. Cereulide is highly heat stable, meaning it is unlikely to be deactivated or destroyed by cooking, using boiling water, or when making the infant milk. If consumed, it can lead to rapid onset of food poisoning symptoms. Symptoms caused by this toxin may include nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps.
