In accordance with Chapter 649 of the Food Safety and Security Act, and in line with the Authority's role to ensure transparency and public awareness on matters relating to food safety and security, the Authority hereby informs the public that following information received from the operator, the following product must not be consumed in view that it may potentially be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications. Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections, including pregnant women, babies, and people with weakened immune systems, including the elderly. The incubation period (time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing) is on average 3 weeks but can range between 3 and 70 days.
Consumers are advised not to consume the implicated product and either dispose of it or return it to the store from which it was purchased.
