Public Advisory on unauthorised products containing Retatrutide
The Superintendence of Public Health and the Malta Medicines Authority are alerting the public that products claiming to contain Retatrutide are currently being circulated and made available to consumers through unverified and unauthorised sources, including online platforms, social media, and informal sellers.
Retatrutide is not authorised for public use, and no product containing this substance has been approved for use. These products are often promoted for weight loss or other health-related benefits but are unregulated and may be falsified, counterfeit, improperly stored, or of unknown origin and quality.
Authorities are taking enforcement actions to identify, withdraw, and remove such products from the market in order to protect public health.
Members of the public are strongly urged:
- To purchase medicines only from licensed pharmacies
- To avoid products that do not carry clear labelling, ingredient information, or proper authorisation
- To exercise caution with products promoted through unofficial online channels or social media
- To avoid any substances marketed as “research", “experimental", or “not for human consumption"
- To always seek professional advice from a licensed healthcare professional before using any medicine or health-related product, regardless of how it is advertised
