In accordance with Chapter 649 of the Food Safety and Security Authority Act, and in line with the Authority's role to ensure transparency and public awareness on matters relating to food safety and security, the Authority hereby informs the public of the following information received from the operator. The alert states that the following product must not be consumed since it may potentially be contaminated with Salmonella.
People infected with Salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range from 6 to 72 hours. The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody. Other symptoms may include fever, headache, and abdominal cramps. The illness usually lasts between 4 and 7 days. Diarrhoea can occasionally be severe enough to require hospital admission. The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to develop severe illness.
