Servizzi Ewropej f'Malta organised a training session for enterprises aimed at helping them turn their ideas into tangible projects and strengthen the skills needed to apply for EU funding opportunities. The session brought together company representatives and self-employed individuals for interactive training on project development and the preparation of EU funding applications.
The event was addressed by the Minister for European Funds, Social Dialogue and Consumer Protection, Keith Azzopardi Tanti and the Head of the EU Funding Support Unit at Servizzi Ewropej f'Malta, Dr Darren Grasso.
In his address, Minister Keith Azzopardi Tanti emphasised the importance of EU funding in supporting the continued growth of enterprises and workers, enabling them to transform their ideas into tangible projects that create new opportunities and contribute to Malta's prosperity. He also commended Servizzi Ewropej f'Malta for this initiative, which brings EU funding opportunities closer to enterprises and helps them better understand how to make use of the funding available.
“We are committed in continuing to bring this support closer to enterprises, ensuring that more have the confidence and the capacity to seize the opportunities offered by EU funding," the Minister stated.
From his end, the Head of the EU Funding Support Unit at Servizzi Ewropej f'Malta, Dr Darren Grasso, outlined the assistance provided by the agency to a wide range of entities, including companies and self-employed individuals. This support includes providing information on EU funding opportunities, assisting with the preparation and completion of funding applications, and offering guidance to beneficiaries who require assistance during the implementation of their projects.
He also referred to the training programme that Servizzi Ewropej f'Malta has been offering for several years to different groups of beneficiaries, including enterprises, voluntary organisations, local councils and public entities. Over the past five years, the agency has delivered more than 60 training sessions, attended by over 1,500 participants. These sessions focus primarily on project development and proposal writing, as well as the key principles to be considered during project implementation.
During the session, participants were provided with information on funding opportunities available to enterprises, including the Business Enhance programme. The training also covered how to identify project needs, establish clear objectives, plan activities and expected outcomes, and prepare the documentation required when submitting a funding application.
Through practical group exercises based on a simulated call for funding proposals, participants had the opportunity to put their newly acquired knowledge into practice and gain a clearer understanding of the steps involved in preparing a funding application.
Through such initiatives, Servizzi Ewropej f'Malta remains committed to ensure that more enterprises have the knowledge and support they need to take advantage of the funding opportunities offered by the EU.
