Operational Standards for Rendering of Services within Crematoria
The Cremation Act of 2019 provides an alternative to traditional burial methods, addressing both environmental concerns and the increasing demand for cremation services.
Cabinet has approved on the 15th October 2024 to start the legal proceedings for the enactment of the Cremation Act of 2019 and the publication of the attached standards by the Superintendent of Public Health for consultation.
This will enable us to proceed with the legal framework required for establishment of local cremation services by the private sector, fulfilling our manifesto promise and providing a valuable service to our community.
